Damascus, Syria – Ten people were killed and more than 270 injured over two days of Iranian strikes, according to The Jerusalem Post. Seven of the fatalities and at least 100 of the injuries occurred early Sunday when Iran launched a heavy missile barrage on multiple locations across Israel.
The attacks primarily targeted central areas, including Bat Yam near Tel Aviv, with additional casualties reported in Haifa and Jerusalem as missile fragments struck residential neighborhoods.
The Jerusalem Post reported that 130 people were injured and 35 remain missing following the Iranian strikes. Loud explosions were heard across central Israel as dozens of missiles rained down. Emergency services continue rescue operations, particularly in northern areas where buildings were severely damaged.
Hospitals across the region reported dozens of casualties. Kaplan Medical Centre in Rehovot treated at least 17 people, one in critical condition. Edith Wolfson Medical Centre reported 32 wounded, including three in serious condition.
On Saturday, earlier Iranian missile strikes on northern Israel killed five people and injured at least 24 others.

Israeli Airstrikes Hit Iran in Retaliation
In response, Israeli fighter jets launched extensive airstrikes deep inside Iran, including the capital Tehran and several military sites. According to Iran’s Mehr News Agency, air defence systems were activated in at least six provinces, intercepting Israeli drones and missiles.
Iranian media also reported that Israeli warplanes targeted the South Pars gas field, causing a large explosion at a refinery. Additionally, Iranian naval forces claimed to have intercepted a British warship allegedly positioned to support Israeli strikes from the Indian Ocean.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the air raids as the opening phase of a broader military campaign aimed at eliminating what he called “an existential threat” from Iran. Speaking to Israel 24, Netanyahu stated that Israeli jets now operate freely over Iranian skies and that these are the deepest air operations ever conducted inside Iran.
Netanyahu emphasized that the strikes specifically targeted Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and the scientists behind its atomic weapons program.
He warned that Iran possesses around 20,000 missiles capable of striking Israel, and that Israel’s current strategy is to destroy Iran’s production capacity before it can reach full-scale operational readiness.
“We will hit every site and every target of the Ayatollahs’ regime, and what they have felt so far is nothing compared with what they will be handed in the coming days,” Netanyahu said.
