Quneitra, southern Syria – The Israeli military has begun expanding a recently established base near the Druze-majority town of Hader in southwestern Syria, local sources told +963 on Wednesday, in a move that reflects Israel’s growing security posture in the region following the collapse of the Assad regime.
The base, located in the Qurs al-Nafl area of northern Quneitra province, has reportedly been under gradual development for several months. A local source said the Israeli military recently seized surrounding farmland to enlarge the installation, signaling long-term intentions.

Israel is believed to have constructed a helipad at the site earlier this year to support helicopter operations.
The area, which borders the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, has seen increased Israeli military activity in recent weeks. Last Thursday, Israeli forces reportedly crossed into Syrian territory near the village of Ein al-Bayda, deploying armored vehicles and establishing a temporary checkpoint. Leaflets dropped by Israeli helicopters in the same area warned Syrian shepherds against approaching the border zone.
