Quneitra, south-western Syria – Israeli troops carried out a cross-border incursion into Syria’s Quneitra province on Thursday, setting up a temporary checkpoint and warning civilians to stay indoors, according to a local source.
The force, comprising five armoured vehicles, entered from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights near the village of Jubata al-Khashab and advanced toward the village of Ain al-Bayda in northern Quneitra.
Once inside the village, Israeli soldiers established a roadblock supported by eight personnel and a military vehicle, the source told +963. A second patrol entered the village shortly after.

Using loudspeakers, the soldiers instructed residents to remain inside their homes, sparking fear among locals. The unit reportedly summoned the village chief to their position, suggesting possible searches or detentions were imminent.
Earlier the same day, Israeli helicopters dropped leaflets in the Quneitra countryside, warning Syrian shepherds against approaching the border fence in nearby al-Hamidiyah. The flyers threatened consequences, including potential attacks, for breaching the buffer zone.
