The Ministry of Information honoured the winning works of the “Syria in Our Eyes” initiative during a ceremony held at the Damascus Opera House.

The event, organised by the General Corporation for Radio and Television Production in collaboration with Trend Art Production, was attended by Syrian officials, media figures, and Arab diplomats.

In his remarks, Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to developing dramatic and cinematic production in Syria through partnerships with the private sector and other stakeholders. He expressed the Ministry’s ambition for Damascus to become a regional hub for artistic production and a prime destination for investors in drama and the creative industries.

Al-Mustafa noted that the Ministry will back this vision by introducing supportive legislation and offering full facilitation to investors and production companies.

The event also featured speeches from the Director General of the Radio and Television Production Corporation and the Director of Trend Art Production, along with a poetry performance by Anas al-Daghim and several artistic segments.

A number of prominent Syrian figures were honoured for their contributions to the arts, media, culture, and humanitarian work. Among them were Abdul Rahman al-Hajj, researcher and director of The Syrian Memory Project; Salma Seif, head of The Female Survivor Union; Firas Mansour, Director of the Emergency Response team; journalist Hadi al-Abdullah; and poet Anas al-Daghim.

Launched last April, the Syria in Our Eyes initiative seeks to identify and nurture talent among Syrian youth in photography, video production, and fine arts. The initiative encourages creative works that celebrate Syria’s beauty and cultural heritage, while highlighting the resilience of the Syrian people in overcoming adversity and building a hopeful future.
