Deir ez-Zor, east Syria – An SDF source told +963 that ISIS militants launched two separate assaults near the towns of Muhamida and Al-Hissan, leaving four fighters injured, three in critical condition.
The attacks follow Friday’s killing of four other SDF fighters in the town of Abriha, also in eastern Deir Ezzor. SDF forces said they killed one of the attackers during the clashes.
Last week, the SDF reported that ISIS had carried out 153 attacks across northern and eastern Syria between December 2024 and September 20, 2025, signaling the group’s attempts to regroup and expand operations amid ongoing instability.
The SDF, in coordination with the U.S.-led coalition, has conducted 70 counterterrorism operations, including three large-scale sweeps, capturing 95 militants, including three leaders, and killing six others. SDF forces suffered 30 fatalities, with 12 wounded, alongside six civilian deaths.
The SDF stressed that the ISIS threat remains, highlighting that continued cooperation with the international coalition, along with development and public service projects, is crucial to prevent the extremist group’s resurgence.
