A joint delegation comprising representatives from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), military commanders from the Syrian Interim Government’s Ministry of Defence, and the Global Coalition conducted a field tour of several areas in the Raqqa countryside, particularly along the strategic M4 international highway in northeastern Syria.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the tour included areas east of the town of Ayn Issa, extending to the Troazia in the countryside of Raqqa. The Observatory reported that the tour included heightened security and heavy troop deployment at outposts situated along the contact lines.

According to the Observatory, the tour included “outposts on the line of contact with high security and intensive deployment of elements”.

“This tour comes as part of ongoing security coordination and field-level understandings regarding a region marked by tension due to its proximity to front lines and its location along the strategic M4 route,” the Observatory stated on Friday.

Last Saturday, representatives from the Interim Government and the SDF met at the Tishreen Dam in Aleppo. A source familiar with the matter told +963 that the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS was also present at the meeting, which focused on implementing a recently signed agreement concerning the Tishreen Dam.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Central Committee mandated by the Syrian presidency entered the Sheikh Maksoud and Ashrafiyah neighbourhoods of Aleppo. The visit was part of efforts to implement an agreement reached between the SDF and the Syrian Interim Government, a move widely seen as a precursor to a broader political settlement across the autonomous administered regions in northern and eastern Syria.

The committee’s entry followed a field visit by the Deputy Governor of Aleppo to the two neighbourhoods, during which he emphasised the importance of the Central Committee’s role in monitoring the implementation of the agreement. He also highlighted the upcoming phase, which includes repatriation efforts for the displaced Afrin residents.

The visit focused on operational follow-up steps and discussions around mechanisms to implement the agreement’s administrative, service, and security clauses. These efforts are part of a broader plan to reintegrate areas under the control of the SDF into the governments institutions and reaffirm Syria’s territorial unity.
