Amman, Jordan – Syria, Jordan, and the United States affirmed in a joint statement today that the Suwayda province and its residents are an integral part of the Syrian national fabric, with all their rights guaranteed through active participation in building a new Syria and ensuring their representation in the country’s future.
The statement said Washington and Amman welcomed steps taken by the Syrian government to strengthen stability in the province, including launching full investigations and holding accountable all those responsible for crimes and violations in the province. The two capitals noted Damascus’s readiness to cooperate with UN bodies and involve them in the investigation process.
They also welcomed the increased delivery of humanitarian aid to all parts of Suwayda, in coordination with relevant UN agencies, and the intensified work of service institutions to restore disrupted services following recent events.
Jordan and the United States praised the start of rehabilitation operations in affected areas and welcomed international contributions to support these efforts, particularly in helping the Syrian government facilitate the return of displaced residents.
The statement stressed the importance of initiating community reconciliation and strengthening civil peace in Suwayda, with appreciation for support from Jordan and the United States in this regard.

Washington and Amman reiterated full solidarity with Syria, emphasizing the preservation of its unity, sovereignty, and stability, and called on the international community to stand with the Syrian people in building sustainable trust rooted in national sovereignty and the rights of all Syrians.
The three parties agreed to hold a follow-up meeting in the coming weeks to continue discussions on Suwayda between representatives from Syria, the US, and Jordan.
Earlier today, Syria’s Foreign Ministry announced the formation of a Syrian–Jordanian–US working group to support efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in Suwayda. In a statement posted on Facebook, the ministry said the tripartite committee will work toward a comprehensive resolution to the province’s crisis.
According to the ministry, the meeting agreed on practical steps to begin the committee’s work, including monitoring field efforts to maintain the ceasefire and coordinating political initiatives aimed at achieving a comprehensive solution. The talks also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the three sides to promote stability in Syria and the surrounding region.
Participants in the Amman meeting welcomed the increased delivery of humanitarian aid to Suwayda, particularly for demining residential areas and securing vital infrastructure such as water and electricity networks, to create safe conditions for displaced residents to return home.
