Damascus, Syria – Syria’s Interior Ministry has arrested two former ministers who served under the ousted regime, a security source told +963 on Friday.
According to the source, the two detained officials are Rima Qadri and Kinda Al-Shammat, both of whom previously held the position of Minister of Social Affairs and Labor during the rule of the former regime.
Their arrests are linked to an investigation into the alleged concealment of children born inside the regime’s prisons before its fall.
Earlier this week, the Syrian Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor announced that several individuals connected to the case of missing children had also been arrested.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the ministry said the arrests were part of ongoing efforts to uncover the truth and deliver justice for the victims and their families, in coordination with the Interior Ministry.
The statement added that among those detained are directors of charitable organizations suspected of possible violations and misconduct related to children who went missing while in state-run care centers controlled by the former regime.
The ministry called on all official and civil institutions, as well as anyone with relevant information, to cooperate with the investigation into the fate of the missing children.
