A senior official from the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) held an extensive meeting on Friday with a German diplomatic delegation in the northern city of Aleppo.
According to the SDC, Jihan Mohammed, head of its Aleppo office, met with a German delegation that included Tulia Odhran, Head of Middle and Near Eastern Affairs at the German Embassy in Damascus; Deputy Head of Mission Alla Schindler; and Political Affairs Officer Stephen Kamel.
In a statement published on its official website, the Council said the discussions focused on advancing a comprehensive political solution in Syria and establishing the foundations for sustainable peace. The SDC presented a detailed overview of the Autonomous Administration’s experience in north and east Syria.
The meeting also addressed the March 10 agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which both sides described as a vital institutional framework for achieving local stability and enabling political transition.
The statement noted that participants reviewed the agreement concerning Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods in Aleppo, discussing the main obstacles hindering its full implementation and ways to support local reconciliation initiatives.

Preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections were also discussed, with both parties emphasizing the importance of ensuring full and equal participation of all Syrian communities in every stage of the political process.
For its part, the German delegation highlighted Berlin’s particular concern for the plight of displaced persons and forcibly displaced communities, stressing the need to create safe and dignified conditions that would allow for their voluntary return to their original homes.
A day earlier, the SDC’s negotiating team reiterated its commitment to resuming dialogue with the Syrian government.
That pledge came during a meeting between the negotiating team and Ilham Ahmed, Co-Chair of the Autonomous Administration’s Foreign Relations Commission, to review the outcomes of her recent talks in Damascus.
In a statement, the Administration confirmed that the negotiating team remains committed to relaunching the negotiation track with the government and is preparing for talks by forming technical committees to discuss mechanisms for integrating administrative and military institutions.
The statement added that the team is awaiting formal dates to hold direct meetings with Syrian government representatives, based on the March 10 Agreement.
