Hasaka, Northeast Syria – The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Saturday the conclusion of a major security operation in the city of Hasakah and its surrounding areas in northeastern Syria.
In a statement published on its official website, the SDF said that the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria, alongside the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), participated in the sweeping raids. The operation aimed to dismantle ISIS-linked networks and prevent attempts by the group to re-establish its presence in the region.
According to the statement, more than 3,000 personnel took part in the 14-hour operation, which resulted in the arrest of 51 ISIS members, including individuals accused of involvement in attacks targeting civilians, security forces, and public facilities.

The raids also uncovered weapons caches, including 50 AK-47 rifles and 155 magazines, 16 pistols and 16 pistol magazines, 1 BKC machine gun with ammunition, 5 hand grenades, 3 radios, 3 Brno rifles, and large quantities of ammunition and military clothing.
The SDF said the operation was launched as a pre-emptive measure to thwart ISIS plans to turn Hasakah into a hub for its activities, particularly around the Al-Sina’a Prison and al-Hol Camp, where many ISIS fighters and leaders remain held.
The statement emphasized that the operation’s success marks an important step toward bolstering security and stability in the region, adding that security forces will continue monitoring and pursuing any suspicious movements.
Earlier today, the SDF had announced the launch of the campaign, describing it as a comprehensive sweep to track down ISIS remnants, dismantle sleeper cells, and foil plots against detention centres.
The SDF also urged residents of Hasakah to cooperate with security forces and report any suspicious activity to help maintain stability in the city.
