Quneitra, southwestern Syria – Israel’s army has completed the construction of its tenth military outpost inside Syrian territory since the fall of the Assad regime last December, according to a report by Israel 24 on Thursday.
The new site was built by Battalion 7006 and has been named after an Israeli soldier, Yishai Slotky, who was killed in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli sources cited by Israel 24 said that two of the new military sites are located at the foot of Mount Hermon (Jabal al-Sheikh), while eight others are near the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
On Wednesday, Moshe Alad, a retired Israeli army colonel, told Israel 24 that the upcoming security agreement between Israel and Syria would not be part of the Abraham Accords framework but would focus on joint efforts to counter Hezbollah and Iran’s presence in Syria.

Alad added that Israel is considering exporting its natural gas to Syria and coordinating water resource management in the Yarmouk Basin region.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced on Wednesday that it had carried out a special military operation in the Quneitra countryside in southwestern Syria, capturing a cell allegedly linked to Iran.
According to Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee, troops from the 474th Brigade of the 210th Division, alongside field investigators from the 504th Intelligence Unit, conducted the operation based on weeks of intelligence gathering.
Adraee said in a statement posted on Facebook that several members of the cell were arrested and that weapons, including hand grenades, were seized at the site.
He stressed that the Israeli military will continue intensive operations in the area to prevent any hostile presence or military activity by adversaries inside Syrian territory, describing this as vital to Israel’s security, particularly for communities in the occupied Golan Heights.
