Daraa, southwestern Syria – Two Iranian ballistic missiles fell in the towns of Inkhil and Al-Sanamayn in northern rural Daraa on Friday, after being intercepted by Israeli air defences, our correspondent reported. No casualties were recorded.
According to the correspondent, one missile landed in agricultural land near Inkhil, while the other landed close to a residential home in Al-Sanamayn, with no reported injuries among civilians.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Channel 12 reported the destruction of Tabriz Airport in northwestern Iran following a new wave of Israeli airstrikes. The raids also targeted 10 additional military sites in East Azerbaijan province.
In response to the Israeli offensive, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei issued several emergency military appointments. Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi was named Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, replacing Mohammad Hossein Bagheri. Ali Shadmani was appointed commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, replacing Gholam Ali Rashid. Mohammad Pakpour was also named as the new commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), succeeding Hossein Salami, who was reportedly killed in the Israeli strikes.
Earlier on Friday, Israel launched hundreds of air and missile strikes across Iran, targeting senior security officials, nuclear scientists, and key military installations.

Israeli army spokesperson Effie Defrin said that the ‘Rising Lion’ operation resulted in the killing of “senior members of the Iranian regime’s security leadership”. The operation involved 200 fighter jets and dropped over 330 bombs.” He confirmed that the Israeli army is still conducting attacks inside Iranian territory, and that Iran had responded by launching drones toward Israel. “We killed the IRGC commander, the Chief of Staff, his deputy, and other senior figures whose names will be revealed soon,” Dvori added.
Channel 12 also quoted a senior military official confirming that more than 10 Iranian nuclear scientists were assassinated and over 300 targets were hit during the operation.
Israeli media reported that the Israeli Air Force began intercepting drones launched by Iran, coinciding with the Jordanian military’s announcement that it had intercepted multiple missiles and drones that entered Jordanian airspace.
