Deir ez-Zor, Eastern Syria – The U.S.-led International Coalition against ISIS carried out nighttime military drills at the Al-Omar oil field base in eastern Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province, a military source told +963.
The drills, which lasted late into Tuesday night, involved heavy artillery and other advanced weaponry, according to the source.
On Wednesday, coalition forces also conducted a military patrol across several towns, including Al-Tayana, Al-Shanan, Daranj, and Al-Jardi in eastern Deir ez-Zor. The patrol inspected former military positions previously held by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) before continuing into the desert regions of Deir ez-Zor and returning to the Al-Omar base.

Last month, the coalition carried out similar military drills in Deir ez-Zor and Al Hasakah provinces, coinciding with routine patrols in those areas. A reliable source told +963 that drills were also conducted in Safiya region of Al Hasakah province, located in the northeast end of Syria,
Additionally, U.S. Bradley Fighting Vehicles were seen patrolling the areas surrounding Safiya, Tal Barak, and the city of Al Hasakah, as well as multiple locations across eastern and western Deir ez-Zor.

Military and logistical reinforcements were recently transported from the Al-Waleed border crossing into coalition bases in Al Hasakah province, the source added. The troop movements were accompanied by increased aerial activity, including warplanes and helicopters monitoring the region.
