Deir ez-Zor, Syria – On Sunday, the General Security Directorate of the New Syrian Administration arrested several individuals connected to loyalists of the ousted regime in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, as confirmed by Colonel Diyaa Al-Omar, the Director of Security for the Deir ez-Zor Governorate.
Al-Omar stated that the security forces successfully apprehended four leaders of groups affiliated with the loyalists of the fallen regime during a well-coordinated operation. This effort is part of ongoing measures to maintain security and stability in the region following thorough investigation and surveillance.
He added, “The operation was carried out after confirming their involvement in planning criminal attacks targeting security and government facilities with the aim of destabilizing the area. These plans were being coordinated with other “remnants” of the Assad regime operating along Syria’s coastal region, but we managed to thwart their efforts.”
