LATTAKIA, Syria
Security forces have taken full control of the central areas of Latakia and Tartous, with operations now extending into rural regions, a source from the General Security told 963+ on Friday morning.
The source reported that security forces faced multiple ambushes and attacks over the past two hours, resulting in several injuries among personnel.

Additionally, military forces have regained control of the Naval Academy in Latakia and secured its surroundings, the source confirmed.
A Syrian Ministry of Defense official told SANA that military operations targeted remnants of pro-Assad militants along the coast using artillery, rocket fire, and Shahin drones.
Reinforcements have arrived at all conflict zones along the Syrian coast, with a large-scale clearing operation now underway, the official added.
Meanwhile, the General Security Directorate, operating under the Interior Ministry of Syria’s caretaker government, has imposed a curfew in Latakia and Tartous in conjunction with the ongoing military and security campaign.

On Thursday, a military source told +963 that 30 members of the General Security and Military Operations Directorate were killed in clashes with Assad loyalist forces in Latakia province. The death toll is expected to rise due to continued heavy fighting in Latakia, Jableh, and surrounding rural areas.
The same source reported that General Security forces had been subjected to at least 30 ambushes and attacks in Latakia province, highlighting the intensity of the confrontations.
Fierce clashes erupted on Thursday between General Security forces and Assad loyalists along the Syrian coast.
