This legal development coincided with a discreet but significant meeting in Paris between Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani and Israeli Minister for Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, with U.S. envoy Thomas Barrack in attendance. The nearly four-hour meeting reportedly focused on border security issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Confirming the meeting on <\/span>X<\/span><\/a>, Barrack stated that he met with Syrian and Israeli officials in Paris to discuss de-escalation, affirming that \u201cAll parties reiterated their commitment to continuing these efforts.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
